Island hopping...

After stopping by Jim's place to pick up our computer crap, we headed off to the airport to island hop to Oahu and then to Maui on Boeing 737s. Flight times were 27 and 20 minutes respectively. It seemed kind of weird to me to jump on a huge jet to only fly for 20 minutes. It was kinda like getting into a car to drive to the end of your driveway to check your mail. But, I guess with the ocean separating the islands, a plane is kind of necessary.

We arrived safely in the afternoon, picked up our rental car (a speedy Ford Escort), and then went to IHOP for lunch/dinner, where the both of us got breakfast. Eric spent an inordinate amount of time coding while I whittled away the time by consuming vast amounts of Dr. Pepper.

Later in the evening, we headed out to Hali'imaile (or something like that) where one of our high school friends, Angela Filose, lived. She and her roommates were kind enough to let us crash at their place for a couple of days while we explored the reefs around Kihei.
