It's Shaun Setty Week - Day 4!

One of the more salient (or rather, memorable) features of pediatric surgery was the call schedule. Imagine having to stay overnight (and awake, for that matter) every other night. And every other weekend, from Fabulous Friday to Succulent Sunday, we would take turns pulling three day runs of "perma-call." Come Monday, we were often too tired to even fall asleep. We would simply skip the "fall" part and just close our eyes while standing.

This little buddy gets to do what we never get to do.

In order to remind us to sleep, we kept reminders in our call room. At the end of the rotation, I slept for almost four days straight.
